Secretary Mehboob Ali Khan takes stock of developmental works under different sectors

KARGIL, JULY 09, 2021: Secretary Tourism, Culture, Labour and Employment Ladakh Kacho Mehboob Ali Khan convened a meeting with the district officers to review the status of various ongoing and new schemes of different departments under his charge at Conference Hall Baroo here today.
Deputy Commissioner and CEO, LAHDC, Kargil Santosh Sukhadeve, Director Tourism Kunzes Angmo, Additional SP Kargil Iftikhar Talib Choudhary, CEO Kargil Development Authority Abdul Gaffar Zargar, officers of the departments of Employment, Labour, Tourism, PWD, Culture besides other district officers were present in the meeting.
Detailed discussions were held on matters related to different schemes especially those pertaining to the promotion of tourism and employment generation opportunities.
The Secretary instructed the Deputy Commissioner and Additional SP Kargil to identify areas in Kargil District that have restrictions on movement of tourists.
While discussing various means for generation of employment opportunities, the Secretary instructed the concerned officers to create a database of unemployed youth with proper registration using portals and mobile applications.
Secretary Mehboob Ali Khan further discussed the status of the provision of land for construction of convention center, office building for the Directorate of Tourism, and office of the Assistant Labour Commissioner, Kargil.
The Secretary also took stock of the progress achieved on the construction of District Library Kargil and functioning of the tehsil and border block libraries.
The District Libararian Kargil informed the Secretary that DPR for construction of District Library Kargil has been already submitted to the concerned authorities.
Later, the Secretary Tourism and Culture also visited the District Library Kargil and took stock of its overall functioning besides the measures for its necessary construction works. He also instructed the concerned officers explore possibilities to include land from the Tourism Department and Suru Valley Public School annexed to the library compound for its necessary expansion.
