Poswal seeks Direct involvement of Sonia Gandhi to address J&K issues
Jammu, July 17, 2021: A political activist of Jammu and Kashmir, Eshfaq-ur-Rehman-Poswal has sought direct involvement of All India Congress Committee President, Sonia Gandhi for redressal of various issues being faced by J&K after reorganization of the erstwhile state in 2019.
In this regard, Poswal today wrote a letter to Sonia Gandhi highlighting the burning issues of J&K. In the letter, he alleged that BJP has failed to address the problems of J&K as there is widespread anger among the people.
He said that protests from different quarters Especially employed youths of Jammu Kashmir have become order of the day. He said that Modi govt claims to be in touch with political leadership of J&K but the widespread anger among the people tells a different story.
“After the All Party meeting, the participants from different political parties of J&K expressed their anger maintaining that the different issues raised by them in the meeting have remained unaddressed,” Poswal said in a press statement.
He said that he fought assembly elections on BJP ticket in 2014 with hope that he would work in close liaison with BJP central govt to resolve problems of J&K.
“I also met PM Narendra Modi twice in the Parliament and expressed certain apprehensions but unfortunately my hopes were let down,” he said.
He said that with the support of previous Cong govts from 2007 to 2014, he tried his best to take the welfare schemes and policies of the central govt to the doorsteps of the people of J&K and succeeded in his efforts.
