Kulgam Police recovers kidnapped minor girl; accused person arrested
Kulgam, July 04, 2021: Police in Kulgam have recovered kidnapped minor girl and arrested the accused person involved in the commission of crime.
Police Station Behibagh on June 30, 2021 received a written complaint from one person stating therein that his minor daughter (name withheld) was kidnapped. Accordingly, a case vide FIR No. 35/2021 under relevant sections of law was registered at Police Station Behibagh and investigation was initiated.
During the course of investigation a team headed by SHO Police Station Behibagh under the supervision of DySP PC Hatipora Shri. Arif Hussain-JKPS was constituted to trace and rescue the kidnapped girl. Acting on specific leads and by utilizing all available means, the team was able to recover the kidnapped girl and arrest the accused person involved in the commission of crime.
After fulfilling all medico-legal formalities, the girl has been handed over to her legal heirs. Further investigation into the matter is in progress.
Swift action by Police against anti-social elements has been appreciated by the locals. Community members are requested to cooperate with police in curbing social crimes in their neighbourhood. They can share information pertaining to social crimes with police. We reassure the community members that our efforts in curbing social crimes shall continue.
