Javid Kakroo joins BJP alongwith his supporters in Srinagar
BJP leader Ashok Koul welcomes London-based Professor Javid Kakroo into party fold, asks him to strengthen party in Kashmir
Jammu, January 06, 2024: Javid Kakroo, the London-based Professor and his supporters have joined the BJP in Srinagar at an impressive function held at party headquarters in Srinagar on December 25, 2023 in presence of Senior BJP leader and party General Secretary (Org) Ashok Koul.
Ashok Koul, welcomed Professor Javid Kakroo and his supporters into the BJP fold by garlanding him with a BJP stole.
Prof Kakroo, hailing from Baramulla and known for his contributions to education in various London colleges and universities, expressed his support for the BJP.
Javid Kakroo while addressing the party workers said that a false narrative has been built in Kashmir and elsewhere by vested interests that BJP was anti- Muslim even though this was a blatant lie adding “we can see the tremendous development in Kashmir after BJP came to power at centre” and hoped that Kashmir will touch new milestones in the days to come.
Ashok Koul, in his address, acknowledged the increasing influx of individuals from diverse societal segments into the BJP, emphasizing the party’s growing popularity.
Koul asked Javid to work in his motherland and strengthen the party in Kashmir adding his valuable contributions to party were highly anticipated after his joining BJP.
Ashok Koul, addressing media representatives, exuded confidence in the BJP’s capability to secure more than 50 seats in the Jammu and Kashmir Assembly during forthcoming elections in the Union Territory.
He also condemned the targeted killings in Kashmir saying culprits will be brought to justice.
“We are assured that our administration will identify and bring to justice those responsible for such incidents. The targeted killings are condemned, and our administration is committed to curtailing such actions. The perpetrators behind these attacks will face consequences; such behavior will not be tolerated,” stated the BJP leader.
Koul strongly denounced the recent murder of retired Superintendent of Police Mohammad Shafi Mir, emphasizing that the act, occurring during the call for ‘azaan’ in a mosque, is unacceptable in any faith.
When questioned about the BJP’s outlook for the upcoming Jammu and Kashmir Assembly polls, Koul expressed optimism, stating, “Our responsibility is to put in the effort. We are not concerned about the outcomes; we will attain them.” Drawing parallels with the party’s unexpected triumph in Chhattisgarh, where they secured 54 out of 90 seats, Koul asserted the BJP’s aim to exceed 50 seats out of the total 90 in Jammu and Kashmir.
Former MLC Surinder Ambardar, who was also present, addressed the gathering and welcomed Javid Kakroo into the party, highlighting that his inclusion will further fortify the party’s position in Kashmir.
The event witnessed the presence of several notable figures, including Former MLC Surinder Ambardar, North and Central Kashmir Incharge Mudasir Wani, Media Incharge Kashmir Adv Sajid Yousuf Shah, social media Incharge Er Sahil Bashir, IT Incharge Sheikh Salman, District President Srinagar Ashok Bhat, Er Aijaz, and senior leader Showkat Qayoom.
