Intel warns of attacks on Uri hydroelectric projects
Srinagar, October 18, 2021: High alert has been sounded in Kashmir following intelligence inputs about a possible terror attack on government infrastructure. According to the latest information, a new militant group Harkat 313 is planning to target the hydropower plant in Uri. It is being told that the emergency landing strip in Anantnag is also on the target of militants.
According to an India Today report, security has been beefed up around the Uri-I and Uri-II hydroelectric projects, which are close to the LoC.
Reports said that there have also been inputs that the terrorist organization Hizbul Mujahideen is planning to attack religious leaders in the valley. In addition, there are inputs that Pakistan-based terror outfits Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) and The Resistance Front (TRF) may target sarpanches and non-locals in Kashmir.
An alert has been sounded in Jammu and Kashmir amid a series of attacks on non-local workers. This month, 11 people have lost their lives in firing targeting civilians.
Earlier on Sunday, terrorists shot dead two workers from Bihar and injured another in south Kashmir’s Kulgam after they entered their residence. A street vendor from Bihar and a carpenter from Uttar Pradesh were shot dead by militants on Saturday evening. (PTK)
