Halq e Adab Mourns Taranum Riyaz’s death
Hajin, May 20, 2021: Halq e Adab Sonawari the oldest literary organisation of Kashmir has deeply mourned the death of noted Urdu fiction writer, critic, poet, essayist and translator Dr Dr Taranum Riyaz. She breathed her last in a Delhi hospital on Thursday. A newscaster of past, Dr Taranum is recipient of dozens of prestigious awards. She has written more than fifteen books of fiction, criticism, poetry and translation. Students in several universities in India have done their M. Phil. and Ph. D. research on the works of Tarannum Riyaz. She has been lecturing in prestigious institutions of art and literature in India and abroad. Her books are on the curriculum in different levels of educational institutions in India. The office bearers and senior members of HAS have expressed theirs sympathies with the bereaved family and have prayed for the eternal peace of the deceased.
