Government School Dedicated Police Martyr: Reasi Police

Jammu, November 30, 2021: In order to honour the Supreme sacrifice offered by the Valiant Special Police Officer (SPO) while fighting against terrorists, Government Primary School Lower Mendi is dedicated in the name of Martyr SPO Abdul Rashid.

In a simple and impressive ceremony Sh Shailender Singh Senior Superintendent of Police Reasi visited remote hill top village Mendi and dedicated the school in the name of the Martyr. Mr Shailender also instituted a photograph of martyr Abdul Rashid in the School.

SPO Abdul Rashid born to late Abdul Rehman and Smt. Fatima Begum in far flung village Mendi of Chassana area on 02-03-1979. He  got his primary education from Government Primary School lower Mendi Chassana and Govt High school Balmatkote.

He joined J&K Police during a period of Peak millitancy in Mahore-Chassana area on 05-04-2001. He attained Martyrdom while fighting against Anti national terrorists in an encounter in Channakote Mahore on 26/27-12-2001 while eliminating the  two dreaded millitants.

Smt. Fatima Begum mother of the Martyr also  joined on the occasion despite her oldage and weakness and blessed the officers with her prayers for this initiative while remembering the Martyr with wet eyes.

Speaking on the occasion SSP conveyed that SPO Abdul Rashid was very helpful and popular among his colleagues. He was very courageous and brave policeman who volunteered himself to be the part of search party on that day and laid down his life for the nation. Nation & J&K Police is indebted to the Supreme sacrifice made by the Martyr in the line of duty and upholding the national flag high.

Mr Singh further expressed that by this initiative of the Government the youth would learn about the Supreme sacrifices of the Martyrs. Not only it will nurture a feeling of nationalism among the citizens but also immortalise the Martyrs, who will be remembered by their names.

Police donated Black boards, stationary items & distributed sweets among the students of the school in the name of Martyr presently run in a private building.

Dignitaries who were present on the occasion spoke high about the valour and gallant action of Martyr SPO, further reported that road to the school of the Martyr should be black topped at the earliest.

Sh Faiz ul Haseeb IAS SDM Mahore while speaking about the sacrifice of the Martyr acknowledged the report of the people and further assured that road to the school of the Martyr will be black topped on priority.

CEO Reasi Sh Mohd Aziz assured that the school shall be upgraded with full facilities including infrastructure and staff.

ACR Reasi Sh Sanjay Badyal, SDPO Mahore Sh Chabail Singh, Tehsildar Mahore Sh Shahid Iqbal, ZEO Chassana and Sho Chassana were also remained present on the occasion among other officers of Police and civil administration and spoke about the Supreme Sacrifice of the Martyr.
