EC Mohsin takes stock of the functioning of Health Department Kargil
Reviews status of progress achieved on COVID-19 vaccination, infrastructural development works
KARGIL, JUNE 09, 2021: Executive Councillor for Health Mohsin Ali chaired a meeting to review the functioning of Health Department Kargil at the Council Secretariat here today.
Chief Medical Officer (CMO), Kargil Dr Munawar Hussain Wazir, Deputy Chief Medical Officer Dr Muhammad Abbas, District Immunization Officer (DIO) Dr Abdul Jalil Wani, Medical Superintendent District Hospital Kargil Dr Kacho Liyaqat Ali Khan, Block Medical Officers (BMOs) besides other concerned officers attended the meeting.
During the course of the meeting, the CMO Kargil briefed the EC Health about the different activities of the department and infrastructural developmental works under different schemes/components, especially steps being taken to tackle the COVID-19 pandemic.
The DIO Kargil informed the meeting that 100% vaccination has been completed in case of 60+ persons, Frontline Workers and 45-59 age category persons in the district.
Out of the total target of 45,000 persons in the age group of 18-44 years, 23,864 beneficiaries have been vaccinated till date, the DIO informed.
The BMOs presented the status of works and achievements in respect to their blocks, and urged the EC Health to provide vehicles for inspection of the sub centres.
The EC Health inquired about the progress of infrastructural development works on different CHCs, PHCs and Sub Centres especially the 300 Bedded Hospital at Kurbathang and CHC Chiktan.
EC Mohsin Ali directed the CMO to approach the PWD authorities for construction of reception centre at CHC Chiktan.
The EC Health appreciated the work done by the employees of the Health Department right from Orderly to Chief Medical Officer to uplift the Heath Sector especially in tackling the COVID-19 pandemic in the district.
Meanwhile, it was decided in the meeting that the EC Health will visit District Hospital Kargil on 10th of June, 2021 to take on spot appraisal of the functioning of the health institution and the various issues of the Health Department Kargil.
