Activist Urges Govt to De-Notify Govt Hospital Gandhi Nagar from the list of Covid Dedicated Hospitals
Jammu, March 09, 2021: Balvinder Singh Social Activist while interacting with media persons urged upon Sh Rajeev Rai Bhatnagar Advisor to Honb’le LG JKUT, Sh Atal Dulloo Financial Commissioner Health & Medical Education to kindly de-notify Govt Hospital Gandhi Nagar Jammu from the list of Covid-19 dedicated Hospitals. In the Month of March 2020 this Hospital was dedicated to Covid-19 as Level-2 Hospital, suspending all services meant for general public of the area.
Singh said that though Govt started OPD services at the Govt Hospital Gandhi Nagar since Nov. 9 but other facilities associated with OPD E.G Lab services, IPD services and even the OT have been kept on hold so far.
Balvinder while sharing month wise detail of OPD patients said that only about 18,000 patients visited OPDof Gandhi Nagar Hospital in four Months (with an average of 150 patients daily) whereas prior to it is declared as Covid-19 Hospital at least 1100 to 1200 patients use to visit Gandhi Nagar Hospital daily but because of the fear psychosis of corona virus peoples still feel risky in visiting the Covid Hospital G Nagar Jammu.
Closure of OT’s and other OPD related activities causing lot of discomforts for the non- Covid patients including the obstetric patients (Antenatal Care) Patients sufferings from Chronic Renal failure who needs regular dialysis at Govt Hospital Gandhi Nagar are the worst sufferers.
So Mr Singh urged upon the UT Administration particularly advisor to Honb’le LG JKUT Sh R R Bhatnagar and Financial Commissioner Mr Dulloo, keeping in view the problems of the peoples of the adjoining areas, declare it as non-Covid hospital by issuing de-notifying order at the earliest to avoid further suffering of the non covid patients of the area. Singh Suggest that let 200 Bedded Maternity Hospital Gandhi Nagar reserved entirely for Covid patients which has all the facilities like regular Oxygen Suppy, Ventilator, four OT’s ete, which are required for treating Covid patients.
