COVID: Fresh spike as J&K reports 505 new cases
'Srinagar records 144 cases in 24 hours'
Srinagar, Jul 21, 2022: Jammu and Kashmir Thursday reported 505 fresh cases of Covid-19, pushing the number of active cases to 2,077 besides that no death was reported in the last 24 hours in UT.
An official told that among 505 new cases, 228 belong to Kashmir division while as 277 to Jammu division.
He said that the total number of positive cases in Kashmir have reached to 289,458 including 286,132 recoveries and 2,425 deaths, while total number of positive cases in Jammu division have reached to 168,998 including 165,486 recoveries and 2,336 deaths.
He further said that the total number of active cases in Jammu and Kashmir are 2,077 including 901 from Kashmir division and 1,176 from Jammu division.
With 152 more recoveries, the tally of total recoveries in J&K has reached to 451,618 which is 98.51 percent of the total cases.
“Among the fresh 505 cases today, 144 are from Srinagar, 38 from Baramulla, 06 from Budgam, 02 from Pulwama 23 from Kupwara, 03 from Anantnag, 05 from Bandipora, 02 from Ganderbal, 04 each from Kulgam and one from Shopian in Kashmir division while 277 are from Jammu division that include 200 from Jammu district, 25 from Udhampur, 05 from Rajouri, 05 from Doda, 14 from Kuthua , 06 from Samba, 11 from Kishtwar, 08 from Poonch and 03 from Reasi,” said the official.
As per the daily information bulletin 6,598,591 persons in J&K are under observation while 328 persons have been kept under home quarantine besides 2,077 persons are in isolation.
According to the bulletin, 6,590,991 persons have completed the surveillance period and 434 persons are under home surveillance besides so far results of 25,988,112 samples are available.
“Out of 25,988,112 the number of samples tested negative stands at 25,529,656 while 458,456 have tested positive, among them 2,077 cases are active, 451,618 have recovered and 4,761 persons have died,” it added—(KNO)
