Eight two wheelers recovered; thief arrested: Reasi Police
On 05th of July one Rishav Thapa S/O Sh. Parshottam Thapa R/O H. No. 448 Bhim Nagar B.C. Road Jammu lodged a written complaint in Police Station Katra stating that he came to Bhawan for paying obeisance on his scooty bearing registration No. JK02BQ-6512 and parked it at Fountain chowk Katra. When he came back after Darshans, his scooty was not found there, and stolen by unknown persons. On this case FIR no. 124/2021 U/S 379 RPC was registered at Police Station Katra and Investigation started.
Police Station Katra activated sources to trace out the stolen two wheeler. Police team zeroed a number of suspects and started continuous rounds of sustained questioning them. Suspect Sushil Gupta S/O Kusturi lal R/O H. No. 116 Shiwalik Puram Janipur Colony Jammu could not justify movements in the area with his frivolous replies and had to confess about commission of crime. SP Katra constituted teams of police station for raiding places from where recoveries of stolen two wheelers had been made on disclosure of the accused Sushil Gupta bearing registration numbers JK02BQ-6512 recoved from Katra town. Further deep investigation during interrogation, accused dislosed about seven other vehicles stolen by him, on this Katra Police started raids at different locations in and around Katra area. Series of raids continued for two days in which seven (07) more scooties bearing registration numbers JK02BM-2708, JK02BX-0813, JK02BC-8558, JK02BE-4775, JK02BB-2914, JK02BM-6811 and JK02BX-6604 got recovered from different locations.
All these vehicles worth more than seven lakh were stolen by accused habitual criminal Sushil Gupta from different areas of district Jammu and used to sell these vehicles to common people by forging documents. In another case FIR no 37/2020 U/S 379 IPC registered against the accused in Police Station Peer Mitha Jammu in which he was arrested and police team recovered 35 Scooties stolen and sold by him in different areas of district Jammu.
