Apni Party leaders hold meet in Jammu ahead of Delimitation Commission’s visit
Decides to meet Commission; to press for early assembly elections in J&K
Jammu, July 05, 2021: Apni Party has decided to meet the members of Delimitation Commission during their visit to Jammu.
In a statement to the press, a meeting of party leaders of Apni Party organised a meeting here at their Gandhi Nagar to discuss various issues to be raised before the Commission.
The meeting held under the chairmanship of Vice President, Choudhary Zulfikar Ali which was also attended by General Secretary Vikram Malhotra, Provincial President, Jammu, Manjit Singh, Ex-MLA Chenani, Faqir Nath, Provincial President, Women Wing, Namrta Sharma, Provincial Secretary, Dr Rohit Gupta, District President Jammu (Rural-A) Pushp Dev Uppal, District President Jammu (Rural-B) Neil Jan Arora, District President Jammu (Urban), Pranav Shagotra, District President Udhampur, Hans Raj Dogra, District President, Kathua, and Ex-MLA Prem Lal, District President, Samba, Raman Thappa, J&K Apni Trade Union, President, Ajaz Kazmi, State Vice President Youth Wing and Media Coordinator, Raqeeq Ahmed Khan, State General Secretary Youth Wing, Abhay Bakaya, SC State Coordinator Bodh Raj Bhagat, OBC State Coordinator Madan Lal Chalotra, Jammu Coordinator of migrant KPs, Vinod Pandita, Kashmir Coordinator of migrant KPs, Sanjay Dhar, Incharge Chenab Coordinator, Malik Mohammed Umar, Provincial Youth President Student Wing, Anuj Manhas, and District President, Youth Wing, Jammu Urban, Shivam Choudhary.
During the threadbare discussion on various issues, the Party leaders have decided that they will meet the Commission during their Jammu visit.
The Apni Party leaders will press the Commission to expedite the delimitation of constituencies to restore democratic process in J&K at the earliest.
The meeting further said that people of J&K are facing a lot of inconvenience in absence of an elected Govt. from the last three years.
The leaders were of the opinion that an elected Govt. is capable of resolving the issues while the bureaucracy has turned the situation from bad to the worse.
The Apni Party leaders said that the elected representatives are answerable to the people and the administration has no accountability in this regard.
“Therefore, the missing link between the people and the Govt. must be reconnected to re-establish democratic process in J&K to win the confidence of the people,” the leaders in the meeting discussed. Various other issues were also discussed in the meeting.
