JKFFC directs Pvt schools to submit files to regularize their fee
Srinagar, January 19, 2021: The Jammu and Kashmir Fee Fixation Committee (JKFFC) on Tuesday directed all private schools to submit the recommended files in order to regularize their fee.
Chairperson of the JKFFC, Muzaffar Hussain Attar in an order said, “In order to enable the committee to ensure that the private schools do not indulge in commercialization of education and undue profiteering as provided under section 20C (I) of the Jammu and Kashmir School Education Act 2002, management of all private schools of JK are directed to submit the files as per the proforma available on the Committee’s website within 30 days.”
The news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO) has learnt that most of the schools have not regularized their fee till date.
Officials at JKFFC said that the management of all private schools of Jammu and Kashmir will have to justify the reasons in case they want to hike the fee.
Attar in an order also said, “The school managements who have already submitted their files as per previous proforma for approval regularization, review and enhancement of Fee structure are also directed to provide full recommended information within the same time period.”
‘Moreover, the schools managements who have not submitted their files for regulation of fee structure and are charging fee without permission of competent authority are also directed to submit their files as per the proforma prescribed by the committee within 30 days from the date of publication of this order,” he said.
Attar also said that the non-compliance of the order shall warrant action under rules—(KNO)
