MBR Govt School Mansar Celebrates 77th Republic Day with Patriotic Zeal and Cultural Splendour
MLA RS Pathania Hoists National Flag at Mansar School; Dogri Giddha Steals the Show
Mansar, Udhampur, January 26, 2026: The grounds of Martyr Balbir Raj Government Higher Secondary School in Mansar resonated with patriotic fervour as students, staff, and the local community came together to celebrate the 77th Republic Day with great enthusiasm. The event was graced by the presence of local MLA for Udhampur East, Sh. Ranbir Singh Pathania, who attended as the Chief Guest.
The celebration commenced with the ceremonial unfurling of the national flag by MLA Pathania, accompanied by the school’s Principal, Smt. Abha Verma, staff members, and other esteemed local dignitaries. Among those present were Ajay Jamwal (PPI Mansar), ex-panches Subash Chander, Baldev Singh, and Chanchala Devi, ex-sarpanch Kirpal Singh, and Vijay Gupta, President of the Vyopar Mandal Mansar.
Following the flag hoisting and the singing of the National Anthem, MLA Pathania addressed the gathering, sharing his insights on the significance of the day. Principal Abha Verma also delivered a special address, reminding the audience of the importance of the Indian Constitution and the values it upholds.
The event showcased the discipline and national pride of the school’s NCC contingents. Cadets from the senior and junior armed divisions, along with the junior naval wing, presented an impressive march-past and precision drills under the guidance of their CTOs, Sh. Chiman Singh, Pankaj Mohan, and Raj Kumar.
A vibrant cultural program reflecting India’s unity in diversity was a major highlight. Students presented Saraswati Vandana, patriotic songs, dances, and a skit. However, the traditional “Dogri Giddha” emerged as the main attraction, earning widespread applause from the large crowd of locals who had gathered to witness the festivities.
The event was skillfully anchored by Mr. Neeraj Dabgotra. In her closing remarks, Principal Abha Verma extended a formal vote of thanks to all the dignitaries and community members for their presence. The celebration concluded with the distribution of prizes and refreshments to the participating students.
