Aazaad Parindey Kala Manch Takes to the Udhampur Streets to Promote PM Fasal Bima Yojana
Nukkad Nataks in Udhampur Villages Raise Awareness for Farmer Crop Insurance
Udhampur, July 16, 2025: In a powerful effort to spread awareness about the Pradhan Mantri Fasal Bima Yojana (PMFBY) 2025, Aazaad Parindey Kala Manch recently performed a series of nukkad nataks, or street plays, in various villages of Udhampur and Ramnagar. These plays aimed to educate farmers about the government-backed crop insurance scheme designed to protect them from agricultural losses due to natural calamities.
In the last six days alone, Aazaad Parindey Kala Manch has successfully conducted 40 street plays across different villages of Jammu, Udhampur, and Ramnagar, reaching hundreds of farmers and local residents with their message of awareness.
Conducted under the supervision of Mohit Singh Chib, the nukkad nataks used simple yet impactful storytelling in local dialects to connect with the rural audience. The plays illustrated how farmers can avail compensation in cases of crop damage caused by heavy rainfall, floods, storms, and other unforeseen disasters. They also emphasized the importance of timely registration, accurate reporting of crop loss, and the role of government-supported insurance.
The performers—Rishab Manhas, Sheetal, Seema Dogra, Nikhil, and Anju Chandel—portrayed relatable characters that emotionally resonated with the villagers and their day-to-day realities.
The initiative was met with tremendous appreciation from the communities, who welcomed the effort with open hearts. Many farmers expressed a keen interest in availing benefits under the PMFBY scheme. Encouraged by this response, Aazaad Parindey Kala Manch intends to take this awareness campaign to more remote and interior regions in the coming days.
