Vomedh Honours Pt. Amarnath Vaishnavi with Tributes, Awards, and Devotional Music
Next Generation and Unsung Heroes Felicitated in a Solemn Tribute
Jammu, July 01, 2025: Vomedh Rangmanch today organized a poignant and memorable event to commemorate the Puniyatithi of the tallest leader of the Kashmiri Pandit community, Pt. Amarnath Vaishnavi, at a packed Abhinav Theatre. The event, part of Vomedh’s ongoing Centenary Celebrations for the leader, was a heartfelt tribute that brought together community stalwarts, young voices, and spiritual music to honour the life and legacy of a selfless torchbearer.
The ceremony was graced by an august gathering of dignitaries, led by Chief Guest Shri Arvind Karwani, Relief and Rehabilitation Commissioner (Migrants). The Guests of Honour included Sanjay Saraf, National Spokesperson of Rashtriya Lok Jan Shakti Party; Dr. Agnishekhar, Convenor of Panun Kashmir; Digambar Raina, General Secretary of Youth for Panun Kashmir; Moti Lal Malla, President of Sheetal Nag ASKPC; Rajive Pandita, President of Kashmir Displaced District, BJP; veteran poet and author Balkrishan Sanyasi; Rohini Vaishnavi, author and President of the PT Amarnath Vaishnavi Foundation; spiritual leader Swami Kumar Ji; and Music Director Dr. Kuldeep Swadeshi. All esteemed guests were welcomed with a traditional Dastar Bandi ceremony.
In his welcome address, Rohit Bhat, President of Vomedh, set the tone for the evening, reflecting on Vaishnavi Ji’s unwavering commitment to justice and community. The intellectual tribute continued with a key paper reading by King C Bharati, senior journalist, social activist, and artist, who threw light on the leader’s contributions. A unique and inspiring segment titled ‘Young Opinion’ saw the next generation stepping forward to carry the legacy, featuring heartfelt perspectives from Ayushi Bindroo, an engineering student, and Nirvi Jotshi, a student of Class 8th, whose clarity and pride moved the audience.
A highlight of the evening was the presentation of the Vomedh Awards of Excellence, an initiative to honour individuals who have contributed immensely but silently to the Kashmiri Pandit cause. This year’s awards were conferred upon Dr. Sushil Wattal, Shri Aryan Ramesh, Shri Pintoo Ji, and Shri Aditya Tickoo, recognizing their tremendous and selfless work for the community in their individual capacities.
The event culminated in a soul-stirring Bhajan Sandhya, which immersed the hall in spiritual bliss. Renowned musical artists Rajesh Khar, Shanti Lal Sidh, and Shivani Jotshi rendered devotional songs that resonated with the solemnity and spirit of the occasion. The entire programme was gracefully conducted by host Kusum Tickoo.
