Sanjeevani Sharda Kendra Announces “Navreh Mahotsav 2025” – A Three-Day Celebration of Kashmiri Hindu Heritage and Resolve

Three-Day Festival to Celebrate Heritage, Sacrifice, and the Dream of Returning to Kashmir

Jammu, March 22, 2025: A meeting of journalists was organised at Sanjeevni Sharda Kendra where discussions were held concerning the upcoming “Navreh Mahotsav 2025.” This three-day festival, commemorating the Kashmiri Hindu New Year (Navreh), will be held from March 29th to March 31st, 2025, culminating in a grand finale on April 1st, 2025, at the Abhinav Theatre in Jammu. The Mahotsav marks the 36th Navreh since the community’s exodus and serves as a powerful reminder of their enduring spirit and determination to return to their homeland.

The festival program is structured around three core themes: Tyaag Divas (Day of Sacrifice) on March 29th, honouring Pandit Shreya Bhat; Sankalap Divas (Day of Resolve) on March 30th, a day for the community to collectively pledge their return to Kashmir; and Shaurya Divas (Day of Valor) on March 31st, commemorating Samrat Lalitaditya. These days will be marked by community-organized events, with pictures and videos shared across social media platforms, including SSK’s official pages.

Sanjeevani Sharda Kendra (SSK) announced the “Navreh Mahotsav 2025,” a celebration aimed at reinforcing the Kashmiri Hindu community’s connection to its roots and its commitment to returning to its homeland. Despite the passage of 35 years in exile, the community remains steadfast in its resolve, fuelled by the spirit of Navreh. SSK, which has been at the forefront of organizing collective Navreh celebrations, calls upon the community for their continued support and active participation.

The Mahotsav highlights the importance of remembering the selfless sacrifice of Pandit Shreya Bhat, who renounced personal gains for the community’s return during the rule of Zain-ul-Abdin (Budshah), and the valour of Samrat Lalitaditya, a historical figure whose achievements remain a source of inspiration. Community organizations are urged to hold events commemorating these figures and share their activities online.

To engage the younger generation, online essay and short video competitions on the lives and contributions of Pandit Shreya Bhat and Samrat Lalitaditya will be held. Entries will be judged by a panel of experts, and cash prizes will be awarded to the winners. Entries can be uploaded via the Google link https://forms.gle/g2daj7m18MqrKSjb9 until March 28th, 2025.

The three-day event will conclude on April 1st, 2025, with a closing ceremony at the Abhinav Theatre in Jammu. The ceremony will feature a keynote address by a distinguished guest and cultural performances.

Senior journalists and intellectuals of Hindu community participated in the pre-event discussions, including King C Bharati, Anil Bhat, Rajeev Pandita, Sumit Hakhoo, Rajesh Dhar, Pradeep Singh Jamwal, Soom Nath Raina, Maharaj Krishan, and Sahil Dhar.
