Civil Society of KPs highlight the genuine problems of the community in Exile

Jammu, February 19, 2025: A meeting of prominent Kashmiri Pandit civil society members of camps and non camps was held at Jammu under the guidance of Senior leader of the community Shri M.K. Yogi which was attended by large number of prominent community members to discuss and deliberate up on the most crucial problems being faced by the community in exile. Vinod Pandita notable community activist participated the meeting as a special invitee.

In a Statement issued today by Senior KP leader M.K. Yogi while addressing the meeting highlighted the pertinent problems being faced by the community on many fronts like enhancement of Monthly cash assistance, permanent employment package for educated displaced youth, balance compensation of the gutted/damaged property of Kashmir Pandits, permanent rehabilitation policy for Kashmiri Pandits in valley with proper road map and improvement in basic needs in camps and non camps.

Yogi appealed to Government of India, Minister of Home Affairs and Lt. Governor J&K to take a humanitarian review of the above listed genuine problems of the Kashmir Pandits in exile and provide over all solace to them by addressing them in a time bound period.

Yogi also appealed for doling out advance cash assistance /Ration to kPs keeping in view the festival Maha Shivratri. He also appealed to concerned Minister for arranging walnuts, vegetables other essential commodities on concession rates and proper sanitation in all camps and non camps on the auspicious occasion of Maha Shivratri.

Vinod Pandita other community leader while speaking in the meeting advocated for strict implementation of immovable Migrant Property act 1997 which has become totally defunct due to its non implementation on the ground.

Pandita appealed for creation of 20 thousand permanent posts for educated unemployed youth to tackle the rise in unemployment in the exile

Pandita further strongly appealed to Union Home Minister and Lt. Governor Jammu and Kashmir to frame an Apex committee of Kashmir Pandits at their level so that the crucial community issues are addressed with honesty and dedication. He also appealed Lt. Governor to reactivate migrant grievance portal forthwith with accountability as countless migrants are running from pillar to post for want of resolutions of their land issues in kashmir but all in vain.
