Atul Duloo, KK Sidha release RIFK Entertainment’s documentary ‘Road To Sharda’

The documentary is based on the fascinating life and journey of Ramesh Hangloo

Jammu, November 20, 2022: A documentary ‘Road To Sharda’ based on the life journey of Ramesh Hangloo, Director Radio Sharda produced by RIFK Entertainment and directed by Rohit Bhat was released by Atul Duloo, Additional Chief Secretary, JKUT and KK Sidha, Relief & Rehabilitation Commissioner (Migrants), JKUT at a function organised by Vomedh in association with TIFFS here today.

The documentary is based on the fascinating life and journey of Ramesh Hangloo, a man who connected Kashmiri Pandits across the globe with their roots through Radio Sharda, and the documentary traces his journey which needs to be known to everyone.

Vomedh a prominent theatre group today organised the release function at KL Sehgal Hall, Abhinav Theatre where Atul Duloo, Additional Chief Secretary, JKUT was the Chief Guest and KK Sidha, Relief & Rehabilitation Commissioner (Migrants), JKUT was the Guest of Honour besides a galaxy of artists, intellectuals and people from all walks of life participated.

Speaking on the occasion Atul Dulloo appreciated the efforts of RIFK and Vomedh to highlight the unknown facets of the life of Ramesh Hangloo through this documentary saying Radio Sharda was doing a tremendous service to the community and has emerged as the voice of people through sheer hard work, sincerity and unbiased programming since its inception.

He said that Radio Sharda was not only a community radio but an expression of their culture, heritage, art and other facets of life.

KK Sidha in his speech while praising the efforts of Ramesh Hangloo and Vomedh said that such personalities and NGOs were an asset to the community and it is because of these people that the rich cultural tradition of Kashmiri Pandits was not only kept alive but being taken forward.

Sidha also informed that the Relief and Rehabilitation department is proposing to rope in such voluntary organisations like Vomedh and Radio Sharda to showcase the tradition of Kashmiri Pandits at various places adding a grand event on the eve of Mahashivratri was also being organised very soon for which the RRC’s office was preparing the groundwork.

Sidha also requested Atul Dulloo to help the department in clearing some proposals that were meant to propagate and create awareness among the young generation of Kashmiri Pandits about their rich cultural heritage and appreciated the role of Vomedh, and Radio Sharda in this regard.

Ramesh Hangloo while thanking RIFK for producing the documentary also expressed his thanks to Vomedh and the director of the documentary Rohit Bhat for bringing his life journey to the public domain and assured that his venture would continue to cater to the needs of the community at large to protect, preserve and propagate the rich cultural heritage of Kashmir.

Rohit Bhat, the director of the documentary in his speech said that Radio Sharda has touched the life of every Kashmiri outside the Valley and it was the love and respect for the man who made it possible to bring a documentary on his life journey, struggles and the ultimate success story.

Prominent among those present on the occasion include former Chief Secretary Vijay Bakaya, Former Vice Chancellor Central University of Jammu, Ashok Aima, Veena Pandita, Prof BL Zutshi and a galaxy of other personalities from all walks of life.
