J&K Smagra Shiksha for 100 per cent accuracy in UDISE plus data

Asks Zonal, district level committees to visit at least 20 per cent schools located in zones, 5 per cent at district level

Srinagar, July 16, 2022: The Jammu and Kashmir Samagra Shiksha has asked the recently constituted zonal level and district level committees to visit at least 20 percent of the schools located in the concerned zones and five percent of the schools at district level respectively to ensure the 100 percent accuracy in the UDISE plus data.

Project Director, Samagra Shiksha, Deep Raj in an order said, “In pursuance to communication received from secretary, Department of School Education and Literacy for Ministry of Education (MoE), all the Districts Heads were asked to initiate the exercise of collecting data and making data entry for all the schools for the year 2021-22 on Unified District Information System for Education plus (UDISE).”

Raj said that based on the feedback received from various stakeholders and also on implementation of National Education Policy, 2020, Data Capture Format (DCF) for 2021-22 has undergone changes and the revised DCF cum revised guidelines are made available on UDISE plus portal.

“The data collection and uploading of data on UDISE plus has almost been completed in all the districts and authentication cum accuracy of data is required to be checked before submission of the same to MoE through NIC, as the same is used for preparation of developmental plan,” it reads.

“In order to ensure the 100 percent accuracy in the UDISE plus data, the zonal level and district level committees with the composition are constituted with immediate effect,” reads the order.

According to the order, the mandate of the committee would be to visit at least 20 percent of the Schools located in the concerned zones and the district level committee shall visit at least 5 percent of the schools of the concerned district.

“Short listing of schools on random basis for physical verification shall be done among government and private schools, Madarsa, KVs, JNVs, government aided schools by giving due share to primary Middle, Secondary and higher secondary level schools,” it reads.

The order further reads that the committee shall ensure the proper entry of the data as per the availability of Infrastructure in the School.

“The committee shall certify the data, uploaded on UDISE+ portal, if it matches on the ground. The concerned HoIs shall extend the full cooperation to the Visiting teams,”

Raj said that if there will be any discrepancy in the findings of the committee, the concerned MIS, operator dealing-hand who uploads the data shall be held responsible—(KNO)
