Minority community won’t leave Kashmir: President Delhi Sikh Gurdwara Management Committee

Meets LG Sinha, says Govt assures full support, justice, appeals majority community to come forward, extend support

Srinagar, Oct 11, 2021: Stating that the minority community is not going to leave Kashmir, President of Delhi Sikh Gurdwara Management Committee and member of the Shiromani Akali Dal Manjinder Singh Sirsa Monday appealed the majority community here to support the minority.

Talking to the reporters after meeting the Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha here, Sirsa said that the recent killings of people from minority community has hurt the sentiments of minority community.

He said that such attacks have never been witnessed in the Valley, saying that they have appealed for the support from the government as well as the minority community. “The Lieutenant Governor has assured us that all the people associated with the killers have been identified and have also assured that justice will be delivered. The government has also assured us that the minority will be safeguarded,” Sirsa added, adding that the LG has also assured them that such attacks will never take place in the future.

Sirsa said that they can’t be threatened by these acts and also the communal harmony being witnessed in the Valley cannot be harmed in any way.

He also said that the attacks, especially the killing of a lady, has hurt the minority community, adding that the security to the minority community cannot be ensured by the police only, but the role of the majority community is pivotal as well.

“The Muslim community should voluntarily come forward with regard to the recent killings in Kashmir and they should extend their support to the minority community, which will give moral support to us,” Sirsa told reporters—(KNO)
