CEC Feroz Khan attends concluding ceremony of 2nd Senior Men and Women State Handball Championship organized by Ladakh Handball Association

KARGIL, OCTOBER 05, 2021: Chairman and Chief Executive Councilor, LAHDC, Kargil Feroz Ahmad Khan attended the concluding ceremony of the 2nd Senior Men and Women State Handball Championship organized by Ladakh Handball Association at Khree Sultan Cho Sports Stadium today where he was the chief guest.

Director, University of Ladakh (UoL) Campus Kargil Kaneez Fatima, District Youth Services and Sports Officer Leh and Kargil Rigzin Tashi and Muhammad Hussain Rehnuma, General Secretary Ladakh Handball Association Muhammad Ali besides other concerned officers were present on the occasion.

CEC Feroz Khan congratulated the winner and runners up and other teams for participating in the tournament. He also thanked the teams from Leh for participating in the tournament to make it a successful event.

Hailing the sportsmanship exhibited by the players during the final match, CEC Khan said that the youth of Ladakh have immense potential in sports field. He said that in order to further upgrade the sporting skills of the players, LAHDC Kargil is fully committed to provide them with modern sports related facilities.

He said that works are going on in full swing for the development of sports related infrastructure which include among other works the development of sports stadium at Poyen, Akchamal and Goma Kargil. He assured that separate stadium for handball will also be developed.

A total of 18 teams participated in the tournament including 12 men and 6 women teams.

In the final match of women’s category, Handball Club Senior Leh defeated

Even Handball Club by a margin of 7-1 goals to clinch the title while in the men’s final United Kargil won the match by defeating Royal United Leh by 2-1 goals.

On the occasion, the CEC Kargil along with other dignitaries distributed prizes among the winner and runners up teams and other participants.
