6 yrs on, work on NTPHC at SK-Bala incomplete

Work will be completed very soon: Official

Bandipora, November 02, 2021: The work on the much-awaited New Type primary Health Centre (NTPHC) building located at Suderkoot-Bala in north Kashmir’s Bandipora district has witnessed an inordinate delay as the construction work has not been completed for the last six years.

Locals told that the foundation stone for the NTPHC building  at Suderkoot-Bala on Bandipora-Srinager highway had been laid six years back. However, the work on the building is yet to be completed despite the passage of six years.

Locals said that the day the government decided to build it they provided them the land of Eidgah, “but now people do not understand why the government left the construction of this building on the mid way.”

The locals said they approached Deputy Commissioner (DC) and Chief Medical Officer (CMO) Bandipora on several occasions, urging them to direct for resuming work on the project, but to no avail.

“We poor people will benefit a lot from this hospital but I don’t understand why the government stopped its construction work,” Shahnawaz Ahmad, a local said.

Mukhtar Ahmad, another local, said that both the hospitals Sumbal and Bandipora are far from their area.

“We appealed to the government to make this hospital functional as soon as possible so that we too can have a sigh of relief,” he said.

Meanwhile, the locals urged the district administration to start the left out work of the building in the shortest possible time so that the residents there will avoid further troubles.

An official however said that the incomplete work of the building will be completed very soon after which it will be made functional—(KNO)
